2.【 106.06.29】Fu Wan chocolate, Taiwanese-grown cocoa bean wins 5 gold medals at 2017 International Chocolate Awards.
The International Chocolate Awards(ICA) was set up to recognize the best fine quality chocolate from around the world. The awards are designed to reflect international tastes and offer a level playing field for international entries.
In this year's competition, Fu Wan chocolate wins 5 Golds, 2 Silvers and 1 Bronze as well as overall ‘Best in competition’ Award at the 2017 International Chocolate Awards, which took place in New York, USA earlier this month – rather unusual, given the small amount of cocoa grown in this country.
The award-winning entry, Taiwan No.1 62%, was the Fu Wan’s first efforts in its aim to produce high-quality, single-origin Taiwanese chocolates.
Fu Wan continuously upgrades its equipment and technology, producing other premium, single-origin Taiwanese chocolate products such as Taiwan No.1 62%, 70%, and 100% Dark Chocolates, and Taiwanese No.5 62% Cocoa Nibs. It works closely with small farmers in Pintung and grows its own cacao trees on its farm in Neipu, Pingtung City.
“I attribute the win to our country and all the friends who have shared all the knowledge with us ” said Warren Hsu, Chocolate Maker and CEO at Fu Wan Chocolate., the company that makes the award-winning chocolates.
This is the big international award for Fu Wan Chocolate and a major victory for Taiwanese cacao farmers.
